    DAY 3

    (10.00am – 3.00pm)

Tamborine Mountain offers many opportunities for visitors to explore and enjoy the scenic natural surrounds.

Following breakfast at your accommodation, be ready for our guide to collect you from your accommodation at 10am.

Our first destination takes us to Queensland’s first National Park, “Witches Falls”. Zigzagging down the mountain side we pass through an open forest of banksia trees and into rainforest with giant strangler figs.

The national park is home to seasonal lagoons surrounded by piccabeen palm groves. During the wet season, rain fills the lagoons with water, and they spring to life with a variety of insect and frog species. We will journey to Witches Falls waterfall and the waterfall viewing platform. Our return walk will take approximately 1 hour to complete, 3.6km return.

Next, we venture over to Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens, described as 'The Jewel in the Crown of the Scenic Rim'. We take time to relax over lunch and enjoy the colourful and diverse range of exotic and native flora before taking time to enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the lake.

Framed with tree ferns, Japanese windflowers and many colours of iris reflecting in the water, the lake is a haven for water birds, fish, frogs and is crossed by the beautiful old stone bridge which was built many years ago. You will have time to wander and discover the gardens at your leisure before we venture to the next location.

In the afternoon we head to Skywalk. Set in a magical 30 acres of privately owned rainforest beside the crystal clear rock-pools of Cedar Creek on Mt Tamborine, Skywalk is a unique and thrilling way to explore the beautiful rainforest canopies.

With a combination of forest floor trails, 300 metres of high-tech steel bridges through the highest points of the upper canopy, and a 40 metre cantilever bridge that soars a breathtaking 30 metres above the creek and rainforest below, it’s an unforgettable experience.

The walk departs directly from the Eco Gallery with a comprehensive array of Australian rainforest flora and fauna displays. The walk takes approximately 45 minutes at a leisurely pace, when pausing to view the many points of interest and information along the way.

When we have enjoyed the serenity of Skywalk, you are returned to your accommodation for some down time, before the evening activity commences.

    DAY 4

    (9.00am – 5.00pm)

It’s an early start to today, with a collection from your accommodation at 9am.

Tommerup's Dairy Farm is an authentic 6th generation working dairy farm, one of the oldest continuously operating dairies in the district. Settled in 1874, this property has been in the family for 5 generations.

Meet the farmers, Dave and his wife, Kay. Gather round as they serve up freshly baked homemade scones with local jam and fresh cream, grab a cup of freshly brewed local tea or coffee and take your seat in the shade of the blue gums. With views to the Lost World and farm land as far as the eye can see, this is the perfect place to start our adventure on Tommerup’s Dairy Farm.

We make our way to the dairy where we walk-through bails, built in the early 1930s, and are still in use twice a day all year round. Watch as some of our Jersey girls are milked and chat to the farmers about what happens to get your milk from farm to fridge.

Not just a dairy farm, Tommerup’s also home to chickens who provide farm fresh eggs for sale and ethically raised Pork & Veal. We will then stop by the Farm Larder so you can buy some goodies, before we depart for our lunch destination.

Our lunch destination is Scenic Rim Brewery & Café, a small family owned, Australian craft brewery. Enjoy a tasting paddle of locally made craft beer while enjoying some home style cooking, inspired by European food. The bratwurst and kransky gourmet hotdogs are always a hit!

After lunch, our journey continues northwest, where we stop in at the largest commercial-scale camel dairy operation outside of the Middle East and the third largest of its kind in the world. Summerland Camels is an 850 acre property, home to over 550 Australian Camels. Now that’s impressive!

What is Experience Tamborine Mountain all about?

Experience Tamborine Mountain is an eclectic collection of like-minded businesses that share a passion for the cool, sub-tropical rainforest paradise that lies near Queensland’s capital, Brisbane and behind the Gold Coast.

Using our specialist local knowledge and connections, we’ve carefully curated a varied menu of activities and experiences that will appeal to visitors’ diversity, tastes and aspirations. And, because one size does not necessarily fit all, we recognise the importance of also crafting tailored experiences for special interest individuals or groups.

The best takeaway from travelling is the stories you’ll have and the abiding memories of simple pleasures, of unplanned serendipitous moments, encounters with locals, and even life-altering learning.  We believe in the importance of sharing the little things with our visitors as well as the big ticket moments and look forward to helping you discover them so you’ll have your own stories to tell.
